Do your life’s work.
Do the work of your spirit.
You do not know what work to do?
What calls upon you?
What work makes you feel most alive?
Even if you are doing something now that doesn’t suit your personality or your soul, you can see where you are as a mission-- a place to bring healing to. A place of completion so that you may move forward to this right work. You are not what you do. You do what you are. And therefore can find satisfaction in leadership, or digging a ditch it does not matter. Be of service, no matter where you are appointed by the powers-- you may be the only light bearer in the room. You may be the healer disguised as the errand boy. It is your actions now where you are right now that lead to future placements.
Why are I speaking about work?
Work is the invisible machinery of devotion to God, life, and craft.
A mother devotes her energies to bearing a child. This is work. A sword maker is one with the blade. Every effort is the culmination of energy, skill and love for life. When you express the qualities in your work, no matter the work,witness your life changing. Your options expand and your true work will emerge from your devotion.

Thank you for your words, Oran. I like reading about monks during different historic eras. Human lifestyles and priorities change over time and yet, our soul and essence remain the same under ego distractions.
It makes sense to set examples of devotion in whatever work we undertake. Each choice has intrinsic value.
